It’s Not Fair

I just want to hug humanity and somehow heal the world.

We’re all human, we’re flawed and sometimes our behavior is rather disgusting.  Some of us have experienced horrible and unfair disadvantages in life.  That’s part of the human condition but it doesn’t have to define us.  It surely doesn’t mean God doesn’t love us…

Although He was a Son, Jesus learned obedience through the things He suffered.   And once He was perfected through that suffering He became the way of eternal salvation for all those who hear and follow Him…  Hebrews 5:8-9 The Voice

I’ve played the it’s not fair card; in honesty, more than once.  You know what The Lord finally said to me? Living without you would be unfair.

Self-talk is powerful.  Our thoughts influence our feelings and many times our feelings, our actions.  But what if what we’re thinking and feeling is a lie?

Doctor’s often medicate symptoms without addressing the root cause of the illness.   Unless you and I deal with the root cause of our issues, we’ll always be dealing with the symptoms.

There was a time I mistakenly believed every thought originated from within me; no matter how benign, no matter how profane.  I lacked the wisdom to understand the reality of an outside influence vying for my thought life.  That influence is about control.

The enemy of God is the enemy of man and the entire agenda of his camp is to kill, steal and destroy.  His impressions are carefully crafted and tailor made to deceive; to steal the hope, vitality and joy of life. Back in the day, God exposed him as the father of all lies–  when Jesus came to His own and His own didn’t recognize Him.  His words were powerful and they echo still today... John 8:37-47 The Voice

We are those people, some of us.  I can assure you from personal experience unless and until you  come to know by experience The Triune Godhead– Sovereign God, Jesus and Holy Spirit, what you don’t know or understand will maim you, kill your potential and ultimately your life.

The Bible has much to say about our minds, mouths, and attitudes.  We are loved by a great God and good Father who can and will bring healing if we’ll give Him permission through submission and opportunity through relationship.

Evangelist Joyce Meyer was the first I heard say, think about what you’re thinking about.  Her unfair beginning is tragedy to triumph- God taking her mess and molding from it His message of love, healing and restoration.  I hope you take the time to read her story in her own words.

The Cross of Jesus Christ was the ultimate in unfairness…the Just dying for the unjust; Purity dying for depravity.  Yet you and I are Jesus’ reward for His Cross.  Did anyone ever tell you that?  How unfair for Jesus, in light of His redeeming sacrifice, to now have to watch His people continue to choose death and eternal separation from Him.

For Jesus, living eternity without you is unfair.

Tip from Joyce:

“No one can win the battle in their mind unless they know God’s Word. The Word of God is Truth, and we can believe that above all else.”  –Joyce Meyer, The Mind Connection

  1. Hi Rebecca! Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. If you’re interested, and don’t already have them, Joyce Meyer authored a couple books on our minds & our mouths- God actually addresses both extensively in the Bible. They are “The Battlefield of the Mind” & “Me & My Big Mouth”. God’s blessing on you as well. : )
